Why we play

A low-pressure introduction to a big mission.

Northwest Coastal Housing preserves, builds, and rehabilitates housing across Lincoln County so people who can't afford market-rate rent still have a place to call home. The Coastal Pickleball Classic is our first community tournament — a come-as-you-are day for neighbors who've never heard of us and longtime supporters alike.

This event is about friend-raising as much as fundraising. Every player entry, raffle ticket, and donated item helps cover event costs and supports families transitioning out of Coastal Phoenix Rising into their own apartments — and every new face on the court is someone who now knows who we are, right as year-end giving season begins.

What your support does

  • Covers venue, prizes, and materials for future community events
  • Collects pet supplies for families settling into their own homes
  • Introduces Northwest Coastal Housing to new neighbors and future donors
  • Builds toward year-end giving, ahead of Giving Tuesday
How it works

Two courts, one afternoon.

We've split the gym so competitive players and first-timers both get a great day — same building, same event, different pace.

Tournament Play

For players who want to compete. You register on your own and we pair you with a partner on-site. Round-robin play gives every team plenty of games, then the top 6 teams advance to a playoff.

  • 32 players, paired on-site into 16 teams — once paired, you stay a team
  • Games to 11, win by 2 — no one-and-done
  • Intermediate-friendly skill level — this is a community event, not an open pro bracket
  • Bring your own paddle if you have one; a limited number are available to borrow
  • Fun prizes for top finishers

Questions & answers

It's encouraged, especially if you're playing competitively — a limited number of paddles are available to borrow from the rec center for anyone who needs one.
Absolutely — that's exactly what the family courts are for. Volunteer players will be on hand to teach the basics, no experience or sign-up required to just come try it.
Everyone registers individually, and we pair you with a partner on-site. We're no longer offering registration in pairs. Once you're paired, you stay a team for the day.
Not as a pair. Each person registers on their own and partners are paired on-site. Friends are welcome to join the family courts together, which are free and open to everyone.
Teams of two play round-robin matches to 11, win by 2, and everyone gets multiple games. Teams are ranked by win percentage, and the top 6 advance to playoffs on the tournament courts.
This is a community event aimed at intermediate players, not an open pro bracket. We want everyone on the tournament courts to have a good, fair match.
We accept card, QR code / Venmo, and cash at check-in and at the raffle table. Registering online ahead of time is the fastest way in.
Yes — food will be available to purchase from the kitchen event area on-site. Details on the vendor will be added here as soon as they're confirmed.
Come as a spectator (it's free), buy a raffle ticket, bring pet supplies, or ask us about sponsoring a prize or raffle basket.
